March 9 - What a Moron

I guess we now know why Newt has not been all that hot to hop on the presidential race-horse. Turns out that even as his Congress was teaching former President Clinton a thing or two about the meaning of the word "is", Newt was getting a little something on the side. News Story Here

What is it with these people? Maybe I'm the strange one. I just don't see the attraction of extra marital affairs. I'm sure the risk is exciting and all and that new relationship smell just can't be beat, but those new sports cars just cost so darned much. Besides that, unless you pay it off, you still have to make the payments on the old car. The only sensible thing to do in those situations, if you really can not live with your old, er, car, is to properly trade in the old one before buying a new one. And don't bother with test drives. What was I writing about again? Oh yeah...

It's a shame, because I think Newt would generally make a good President, but his personal flaws are likely to make him un-electable.

P.S. I plan to drive my present car until the wheels fall off and then I'll just sit there and listen to the radio so don't anyone go getting the wrong ideas.

It's not a universal rule, but in general, people are attracted to politics because they hunger for power. Men who are hungry for power are more likely to engage in relationships where they can demonstrate their power (over women) and the more women the better. Even the cream of the political crop, JFK for instance, was marred by allegations of sexual misconduct.

Some (women) might argue that this is merely an indicator of the male condition, but I think some women are similarly afflicted and certainly there are men who never get the itch...

Regardless, they're not morons, they're just emotionally deficient...

Well, on second thought, I suppose they are morons because, after all, they got caught!

Joey, It turns out that both scum and cream rise to the top.

Yet, You are technically correct, but it is my opinion that Clinton was just as much the target of a campaign to discredit him as Bush is today and as Newt will be if he decides to run. Politics continues to become much more about looking for avenues of attack than good governance. Unfortunately, the result is that much of the electorate is titillated instead of disgusted. It makes good news. I expect this condition to get worse before it gets better.

The only thing that satisfies a power hungry wannabe politician more than many sordid affairs with loose women is publically humiliating another power hungry established politician by exposing his many sordid affairs with loose women!

All the better if you can catch him in a lie!
